Calling all budding young artists 8-12 years old! Summer is just around the corner and so is Pottery Camp. Each session is three consecutive days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. During camp students will be taught hand building techniques to make a different project each day. Kids will also be painting their pieces at the end of class. Pieces will be ready for pick-up 3 weeks after end of camp. Kids will take home pieces that are food and dishwasher safe. We use only non-toxic clay and glaze in our studio. If kiddos are just visiting for a short time, pieces can be shipped anywhere in the U.S. for $10.

Kids Pottery Camp

Learn to make simple shapes including cups, mugs, bowls and plates. Trimming, surface decoration techniques, and glazing will also be covered. 
- 2 hr class meets Wednesdays for 8 weeks
- No prior experience necessary
- All tools, clay, glazes, firing, shelf space, and open studio time included

Each class is a two hour session with instructor, the last 30 minutes of which are dedicated to clean up. 

Pieces will be available for pick-up 2 weeks after the class has been completed. (Pieces can be mailed, with prior arrangement, at an additional cost.)

Many students like to take this class more than once to continue improving their wheel throwing skills.

Returning students will continue to improve their wheel throwing  skills and work on projects which will incorporate lids, handles, and various surface decoration techniques.

Syllabus:    Week 1 - Intro, studio rules, centering, play with clay
                       Week 2 - Throwing a cylinder
                       Week 3 - Trimming
                       Week 4 - Throwing a bowl
                       Week 5 - Throwing a vase/Trimming
                       Week 6 - Throwing (student choice)/Trimming*
                       Week 7 - Trimming/Underglazing/Glazing
                       Week 8 - Show & Tell, pot luck
*Wet clay work must be completed by week 6

If you are new to wheel throwing I'd highly recommend the shorter (beginning) class to introduce you to the wheel and help you learn basic techniques. I have no prior experience and struggled the first week but Veronica does an amazing job of helping you learn and be successful, enjoy the process, and have fun. One two hour session to create a hand formed piece

Make unique, keepsake ornaments to become family heirlooms. Use pottery hand building techniques, cookie cutters and underglaze paints to create your own custom ornaments. If you have a favorite cookie cutter at home feel free to bring it to class.

4 ornaments per students. Additional ornaments can be made for $10 each, pay in person on class day.
